The Database

Operational since the beginnings of the Social Clause Initiative, the database is one of the group’s basic principles.

In 2005, the companies worked in conjunction with a service provider to revise the database hosted online since early 2006.

The database lets companies exchange audit results on suppliers they have in common. Exchanges are made via a coordinator who guarantees the confidentiality of data.
The companies send the coordinator a list of the suppliers they plan to audit. The coordinator checks in the database and puts companies planning to audit the same suppliers in touch with each other, thus avoiding duplication of audits and of costs.
The database contains 2,400 audits.

Annual results overview

At the start of each year, the audit results from the previous year are analysed and included in a communication from the Social Clause Initiative.

Each member of the Social Clause Initiative fills out a form on its audit programme (number of initial audits, number of follow-up audits, countries concerned, sectors concerned, conclusion of audit results, problems encountered, corrective actions performed and areas for improvement).
A summary of these forms indicates trends which are then reinforced by indicators taken from the database. These data are used to set work priorities.
